Mist on the Coast Path
I am working on my book proposal this week, and dreaming of spring when I can keep hiking. With that in mind I thought I would share one of my photographs from the coast path. This one was taken on a misty day a few years ago.
Walking in the mist on the coast path can be scary, but it also one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The world loses all sense of scale, distances vanishes, the tops of cliffs disappear. The world becomes strange. I love this photograph because is captures the experience so wonderfully. The crisp and clear immediate world giving way to mist shrouded shapes in the distance. There is something about mist and shooting in black and white that work wonderfully together, the world reduced to shapes and textures. I look forward to sharing more misty day shots with you all.
