Hamlin Pool
I thought I would share this photograph of Hamelin Pool in Western Australia with you today. Hamlin Pool is home to the most diverse and abundant examples of stromatolites in the world. These living fossils are representative of life over 3500 million years ago when there was no other complex life on Earth.
I love the colour gradient in this photograph, and the way it repeats above and below the horizon line. There is something compelling about a photograph so empty of detail and so rich with colour. I find it incredibly calming and wish I could rive into the frame.
